Let me be
It's all that I can do to keep my head and my heart free,
Don't dare try it again or you won't like what you see,
Can't you just be happy, with you as you and me as me?

Just a Dream
It's been too long my friend,
It's been too long again,
It's been too long,
And though we're strong,
I know we near the end.
We held on oh so tight,
We held on with all our might,
We held on strong,
For oh so long,
But now we've lost the fight.
Let me dream of you tonight,
Let me dream it's all alright,
Let me dream,
We're still a team,
Our dark future's once more bright.

Today is the Day
The world is drab and grey today,
But there's colours yet to see my friend,
As you sit staring through your window pane,
With eyes that see no end.
But have you listened to the wind today?
It's telling you to move,
To take yourself to the tree my friend,
To feel its bark, its dips and grooves.
To see the depths and shadows of green today,
That's there, in the canopy above,
Divided by the sky between,
To sheild you from the sun.
And have you smelt the fresh cut grass today?
Or the wild flowers in between,
That wish to draw you down the path again,
Towards your favourite climbing tree.
To see it standing against the sky today,
Eminating patience, strength and peace,
Strong arms held out wide for you to play,
In the sky where the birds sleep.
And have you touched the dew dressed ground today?
To feel its coolness damp your hands,
Or felt the summer raindrops slide away,
As you make your way back to his lands.
To see him rooted to the spot today,
Standing steady, he always is,
Ready to hold you above the ground again,
Listening to your heart in a way thats only his.
So open up your eyes my friend,
Your life is waiting to begin,
For today's the day for you my friend,
To see the colours creep back in.

Dragons
To dip down into the darkness after what I want for me.
No shame in having fearful hearts with what you're imagining.

The End Of Me
Too long I've seen and heard your grief,
Oh heart that sits inside
The love you felt, however brief,
Was washed out in the tide.
What remains now is shadow like,
A scar no other sees,
Cherished once, now poison like,
To what would make you free.
I'd tell you if I thought you'd listen,
I'd show if you could see.
To escape now our future's written,
Would be the end of me.

Dreamtime Wish
I wish all the best of things to you,
And hope you dream of them this night,
To wake upon the morning new,
And set this, your world, to rights.

The Artist
Paint all the flowers grey,
Turn your eyes until they face back,
To see your mind in its dismay.
Silence the musician's instrument,
Cut out the poet's tongue,
Make static from your love's lament,
And hear the saddness I have won.
I did these things unto myself,
So don't try to help me now,
Rather turn your back and use your stealth,
Get away from me somehow.

Hidden Light
Are you hiding from the world,
Or are you struggling to get out?
You're a tree in deepest winter.
Are you happy where you stand,
Would you move if no root hindered?
You are the crest upon the wave.
Do you like to play up there,
Or is escape the thing you crave?
You are a bird upon the wind.
Has your journey been so long,
That you forgot you had a friend?
Will you show your pretty face,
Or remain masked till you go out?

Your Blue Dress
Your blue dress: it frightens me.
Neither sky, nor ocean, but akin to each.
As I stare, my longing, it slowly creeps,
To be lost in it and out of reach.
Whether wave or wind, whatever it be,
To carry me to you, on promise breached,
Letting me see your face, then sink too deep.
Once clasped, your hand, now slipped, I weep,
As I vanish from the sapphire beach,
Of your blue dress that frightened me.

The ones.
Surround yourself with your friends,
The ones that know your tormented mind,
The ones that see the world for what it is,
And wish that it was blind.

My Reaper
Will I lose my dignity,
When it comes my turn to die?
Will anyone have cared for me?
Will anybody cry?
Are you the one who'll come for me,
My Reaper in the night?
Are you the one who'll comfort me
And tell me it's alright?
You close my eyes, you kiss my lips,
You breathe out my last breath.
You take my hand, you stop my heart,
You lead me into death.
